Hey Kelly,
I got the black planet image from launching the flash video. And if you skip the intro and watch the :60 trailer, that’s how I found the multicolored image.
You can also incorporate the two “conversations” in the upper right corner as content pieces as well. Try using the “decade of smart” as the main piece? And feel free to use your own creative thoughts to include in the microsite, you’re not limited to using what they have there.
Thanks,
Elaine

hey elaine, the images you sent over before were both pretty pixelated, so that's why i chose not to use them. i could possibly use the one with the type and oranges and blues, but i'll have to see if i can make the type look crisp enough.
i found a similar version of that on their site that was more purple in tone. http://www-03.ibm.com/innovation/us/thesmartercity/index.shtml?cm_mmc=agus_brsmartcity-20090929-usbrb111-_-s-_-genhpmerch-_-sp&re=sp8
i could possibly use that. if you can point me to the original of the orange and blue version, perhaps i can get a more crisp version.
the other image you sent me looks like it is a piece of a larger image, and has been blown up way beyond its original proportions. i'm not even sure what it is supposed to be?
what type of content did you have in mind for the overview page?

Hi Kelly,
No need to actually build this out today…just mockup so Jason can pitch it and he needs it within the next hour.
Is there a way you can incorporate the images I had attached in the previous email? Just looking for more color and a way to catch the client’s attention rather than screenshots from their site. Could you nix the bottom article with the guy speaking? And dig around more on their site for other content to use?
Let me know if you run into any creative roadblocks.
Thanks!
Elaine

ibm comp for overview page attached. i thought it might be nice to have the video play in a pop-up window like they did on the ibm site? this way, we can still use a smaller thumbnail image on the page, but the video will pop-into a window that lets it play at actual size.
i think it would be nice to mock-up an interior page, as well, but i wanted to give you a chance to comment on the direction before continuing with that. i envision the orange header ('welcome to TheSmarterCity') to switch out according to which tab the user is on (cloud computing, etc.), along with the content. perhaps have a link for a video on the interior pages as well?
let me know what you think so far.
thanks!

eod today shouldn't be a problem. i'll get you a first round before lunch and address any feedback this afternoon. On Fri, Jan 15, 2010 at 4:01 PM, Elaine wrote:
Hi Kelly,
Could you mock up a group sponsorship microsite for IBM? Jason needs this by EOD Monday 1/18.
We will use the content from this site- http://www.ibm.com/smarterplanet/us/en/index.html?re=sph
If you could embed the Mad Science video, we’d like that in one of the tabs, if not, link to it?
Definitely want the focus to be on the “Welcome to TheSmarterCity”
Link to the icons on the bottom- Cloud computing, Government, Healthcare, Retail, Telecom, Work and Overview
These are just screenshots but Jason really likes the imaging of the pictures so I’ve attached the two.
Please let me know if you have any questions! Sorry for the mad rush of requests!
Thanks Kelly!
